【Internal Affairs】

On December 3-4, the North Korean media reported that Kim Jong Un participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Township of Samjiyeon; gave field guidance at the revolutionary battle sites near Mount Baekdu and rode up the mountain;cut the ribbon during the completion ceremony for the Jungphyong Vegetable Greenhouse Farm and the Tree Nursery; and expressed his appreciation to the soldier-builders of the Korean People’s Army (KPA).

On December 3, the North Korean media reported thatKCNA issued a Detailed Report on the Construction of the Township of Samjiyeon.

On December 4, the North Korean media reported that,according to a decision of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Worker’s Party of Korea (WPK), the 5thplenary meeting of the 7thCentral Committee of the WPK will be convened in late December.

 

【Inter-Korean Affairs】

On December 2, the North Korean media condemned South Korea President Moon’s request for support for the ROK’s North Korea policy at the South Korea-ASEAN summit.

On December 3, the North Korean media denounced the South Korean foreign minister’s visit to Japan and the conditional extension of the General Security of Military Information Agreement (GSOMIA).

【Foreign Affairs】

On November 30, the North Korean media reported thata vice director general of the Department of Japanese Affairs at the Foreign Ministry, in a statement, blasted Japanese Prime Minister Abe for mistaking the North’s latest test-firing of a super-large multiple launch rocket system for a ballistic missile launch.

On December 1, the North Korean media reported thatthe symphony orchestra of the State Grand Theatre of China gave a performance at theTheatre of the Samjiyon Orchestra for two days.

On December 3, the North Korean media reported thatRi Thae Song, vice foreign minister in charge of U.S. affairs, in a statement, called on Washington to show flexibility in its position by an end-year deadline.

On December 4, the North Korean media reported that Pak Jong Chon, the chief of the General Staff of the KPA, in a statement, warned that the North may use “prompt corresponding actions” regarding the remarks by President Donald Trump that the U.S. is still ready to take military action if necessary.

On December 5, the North Korean media reported thatFirst Vice Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui, in a statement, denounced the remarks by President Donald Trump (The U.S. is still ready to take military action if necessary).
