On February 29 and March 3, the North Korean media reported that Kim
Jong Un observed a joint strike drill of his military and extended
thanks to the participating military personnel and convened a meeting
of the Political Bureau of the Workers’ Party of Korea (KPA) on
February 29; and gave field guidance at the firepower strike drill of
long-range artillery sub-units of the Korean People’s Army (KPA) on
the front on March 3.
On March 2, the North Korean media emphasized that forest
restoration work is a program for the noble patriotic cause and
encouraged the people to join in planting trees and restoring the
forests on the occasion of Tree Planting Day (“Let’s turn all the
mountains of the country into mountains of treasure and gold.”).
On March 6, the North Korean media underscored the importance of
ideological work of the WPK when marking one year after Kim Jong Un
sent a letter to the national meeting of the primary information
workers of the WPK.
On March 6, the North Korean media reported that 221 of 380
foreigners quarantined and under medical watch to stop the spread of
COVID-19 have been released from quarantine.

On March 3, the North Korean media reported that Kim Yo Jong, first
vice department director of the WPK Central Committee, in a statement,
condemned the Blue House’s response to the North’s firepower strike
drill (“shocked by the Blue House’s foolish way of thinking”).
On March 5, the North Korean media denounced the South’s
conservative parties for spreading rumors of the North’s intervention
in the general elections slated for April 15 in the South.
